NEXT PROJECT

LAST PROJECT
The first round of data collection consisted of market research and an in-person interview of 8 people with closed and open-ended questions for defining the problem space and validating the solution.
The Market research displayed a gap of Sri Lankan restaurants in the inner west, however, is an affluent, multicultural and restaurant-dense area, indicating demand. The interviews revealed a preference for unique, unreplicable food and a nice atmosphere. Due to the lack of knowledge of the cuisine, guidance is needed when selecting dishes.
An interactive restaurant is to create an engaging and encouraging dining experience.
Interactive Restaurant
Interactive 3D Design
BRIEF
Design an interactive experience to entice homebodies back into a restaurant. The semi-functional prototype must be built on the 3D software unity.
Fictional Client: Local restaurant owner. (small venue, short on cash, $5K budget)
DESIGN SOLUTION
This restaurant experience creates a new, engaging experience for patrons, to encourage dining out with a cuisine with less exposure. The space promotes awareness and encourages enjoyment of the Sri Lankan food, and forms an interactive experience that allows users to choose their own dishes based on sight and smell.
This restaurant experience creates a new, engaging experience for users, to encourage dining out with a cuisine with less exposure. This solution both provides awareness and encourages enjoyment of the Sri Lankan food, and forms an interactive experience that allows users to choose their own dishes based on sight and smell. The use of conveyor belts enables users to have a new, enjoyable experience and try a wide variety of affordable new food in small portions.
DATA GATHERING
CONCEPT
Low, medium and high fidelity prototypes were tested on users and UI/UX peers to guide the iterations made. 5 rounds were tested through a survey and observation.
